Our Story

As a passionate graphic designer, I sincerely appreciate all types of design. I became interested in design when I was a student, and since then, I’ve worked hard to hone my craft. One thing I’m really passionate about is interior design. I’m constantly inspired by interior design, and I love using my creativity to turn a blank space into a functional, beautiful room. I believe that every space has the potential to be transformed into something special, and I’m excited to be able to share my passion for design with others.

Designer Statement

“The essence of creative design is to capture and innovate the audiences’ imagination through an emotional experience, visuals and functionality. Therefore, recreating and reviving through resourceful means is necessary to move forward into a sustainable future.” by Maha Zipporah Ally.

The quotation above defines what Interior design means to me. How do illustrious designers rethink design to meet the needs of future changes?

My journey has been somewhat the same throughout my years, from a young girl to a well-rounded individual. I have learned that self-improvement is an excellent quality to continuously develop to recreate a better version of oneself. This quality solidifies one’s character and reinvigorates my dreams and aspirations to achieve greatness.

As a creative graphic designer, I want to express my creativity by creating informative, inspiring, and minimalist designs. I have an eye for minimalism design with colour. Colour in design not only awakens emotions in your audience but also brings life to my design. I like creating in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Dimensions, and After Effects. Before developing my design ideas, I conduct intensive research on the subject matter. This helps me make inspiring, innovative, and creative design decisions to deliver a well-planned and structured piece of work that is delivered in accordance with the brief of my clientele.

After studying Graphic Design, I have gained a multitude of skills and a wealth of knowledge that has enabled me to become a better designer. Moving forward to pursue a degree in Spatial and Interior Design. I am seeking a career in interior design; I have had many jobs over the years, but I can’t seem to lose interest in my passion for Interior Design.

When I was younger, I lived with my friends, I was that housemate in charge of the deco, furniture placement and cleanliness. I don’t know how I landed this role, but a part of me was pleased to be the interior designer of this place. I would find myself asking the girls for money to buy fairy lights to match the candle holders on the fireplace for Christmas decorations and making charts to do spring cleaning in order to be ready for summer. Rummaging through charity shops to find wicker baskets and hippie bold printed clothing to set the scene for summer garden parties. Back on savings to raise money to visit antique shops to buy old paintings and picture frames from dusty old boxes at the back of these antique shops, rummaging through frames in the nooks and crannies of the shop in order to find that painting that will set the mood of the room.

From then on, my friends always asked me for advice on decoration and fashion because they felt I had a good eye for fashion, style, and deco. This began my journey to pursue a career in interior design. This has been a dream goal for me for many years, and now, when I’m writing this personal statement to Universities to turn my dreams into reality, it’s making me really sentimental; plus, it feels a bit surreal. Well, here I am, asking this educational institution to allow me to study Spatial and Interior Design to showcase my creative vision to the world by holding an undergraduate honour in the subject I’m incredibly passionate about learning.

The work of Sonia Carlson really inspires me. She incorporates colour into her designs, which does not overpower the rest of her design choices. I also like how she uses wood and natural materials in her very inspirational designs. I also take inspiration from the works and writing of Ali Heath, who wrote an excellent book called Create: At Home Old and New. This book is well-written by the author, and it has a lot of great design ideas for reusing old furnishings with modern room structures with low ceilings and white walls. She uses the antique furniture as a statement piece or the focal point she works around to bring the room together.

I work with sustainability at the forefront of my design, I like to reuse old furniture and spaces that have lost touch with our modern lifestyles and work to restore or refurbish and reuse. I believe in ethical practices. My design style is to fully immerse my client in the design process, meet their requirements for using the space, and make it practical for daily living or customer-friendly.
